3. Installation

Mounting structure, panels, DC/AC cabling, earthing, lightning arrestor, inverter and distribution boxes — usually one working day for a typical home system.

4. Net meter & commissioning

After inspection the bi-directional meter is fitted, the system is commissioned, the monitoring app is handed over and the panel warranty is registered in your name.

How much solar do you need in Chennai?

On-grid vs hybrid solar

On-grid is the lowest-cost option and works with net metering — right for most Chennai homes with stable supply. Hybrid adds a battery so essentials keep running during power cuts. Off-grid suits farms and sites without a reliable grid connection.

Subsidy and net metering

Eligible residential systems receive central PM Surya Ghar assistance of ₹30,000 (1 kW), ₹60,000 (2 kW) and ₹78,000 (3 kW and above). Tamil Nadu has announced an additional state top-up. The Tamil Nadu state top-up is an announced scheme; final amounts, eligibility and release timing are set by the government portals and are confirmed at application time. What happens after installation

Before work starts, GenSolar and the customer sign a written agreement covering design, equipment, installation scope and after-sales responsibilities. For five years after commissioning we inspect and remedy installation-related issues as set out in that agreement. Manufacturer product and performance warranties are separate and follow the manufacturer's terms.
