Gensolar Energy is a rooftop solar installation and service company operating in Chennai and across Tamil Nadu, India. We are the data controller for the information described in this policy.

• Contact details you give us: name and mobile number (required), plus optional email, district/city, monthly electricity bill amount, property or roof details and any message you write.
• Enquiry context: the page, campaign or ad you came from, the service or system size you asked about, and any calculator estimate you chose to send us.
• Lead-ad data: if you submit a lead form on Facebook, Instagram or Google, those platforms pass us the fields you completed on that form.
• Site survey data: if you request a survey, photographs of your roof, address and geo-location, and electricity connection/consumer number.
• Technical & usage data: IP-derived approximate location, device and browser type, pages viewed, buttons and WhatsApp/call clicks, and cookie or pixel identifiers.

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18, and we do not ask for sensitive personal data such as caste, religion, health or biometric information.

• To respond to your enquiry, call you back and give a solar quotation.
• To carry out a site survey, design, install and service your solar system.
• To prepare and file PM Surya Ghar subsidy applications and TANGEDCO net-metering paperwork on your behalf, where you ask us to.
• To send service, warranty, AMC and offer updates by call, SMS, WhatsApp or email.
• To measure and improve our website and advertising performance.
• To meet legal, tax and regulatory obligations.

Our legal bases are your consent (given when you submit a form or opt in), performance of a contract with you, our legitimate business interests, and compliance with law.

We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel and analytics tooling to understand which ads and pages generate enquiries, to measure conversions and to show relevant ads. These tools may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser. Where used, Google services may process the same kind of data.

You can control this through your browser cookie settings, your Meta ad preferences and your Google ad settings. Blocking these does not stop you from using the site or contacting us.

Data you submit through a Meta or Google lead form is also handled under those platforms' own privacy policies in addition to ours.

We never sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Our installation, electrical and logistics teams and authorised GenSolar channel partners or franchisees handling your area.
• Government and utility bodies where needed for your application — MNRE / PM Surya Ghar portal, TANGEDCO / TNEB net metering.
• Financing partners and banks, only when you ask us to arrange EMI or a solar loan.
• Service providers who run our website, database, hosting, messaging and analytics under confidentiality obligations.
• Authorities where disclosure is required by law.

Enquiries are stored in our secured lead database with restricted, password-protected staff access and encryption in transit. Some of our service providers may store data on servers outside India; where that happens we require appropriate safeguards.

We keep enquiry data for up to 3 years from your last interaction, and customer/installation records for as long as your 25-year performance and workmanship warranties and applicable tax law require. After that we delete or anonymise it.

• Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or update inaccurate details.
• Ask us to delete your data, where we are not required to keep it.
• Withdraw consent or opt out of marketing calls, SMS, WhatsApp or email at any time.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.

Email contact@gensolarenergy.com with the subject "Privacy Request". We respond within 30 days and may ask you to verify your identity.

Our site links to government portals and manufacturer websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices; please read their policies separately.

We may update this policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be highlighted on our website.
