Solar Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) in Tamil Nadu
Dust, bird droppings, pollen and coastal salt can quietly take 15 to 25 percent off your generation within a few months. A GenSolar AMC keeps the system at rated output with quarterly cleaning, inverter health checks, electrical safety audits and a written performance report after every visit - for any brand, even if we did not install it.

What our AMC covers on every visit
An AMC visit is a full service, not a rinse. Our technician cleans each module with soft brushes and low-TDS water in the early morning or evening so the glass is never thermally shocked, then works through the electrical side of the plant: inverter error log, string voltage and current, MC4 connector condition, DC and AC breaker operation, surge protection device status, earthing resistance and the torque on every mounting clamp. Anything that is drifting from spec is photographed and reported before it becomes a breakdown.
You receive a written report after each visit that compares actual generation against the expected yield for that quarter, so the value of the contract is visible in units, not adjectives. We also handle panel and inverter warranty claims with the manufacturer on your behalf, which is usually the slowest part of any solar problem.
- Panel cleaning with soft brush and low-TDS water
- Inverter error log, firmware and cooling check
- String voltage, current and IV behaviour check
- Connector, breaker, SPD and cable inspection
- Earthing and lightning-arrestor resistance test
- Structure bolt torque and anti-corrosion check
- Written performance report vs expected yield
- Warranty claim filing with the manufacturer
How to book: fill the form and we do the rest
Fill the enquiry form on this page with your name and phone number - everything else is optional. Tell us your system size, location and roughly when it was commissioned, and if you can, send a photo of the inverter display or the app dashboard on WhatsApp at 8939102517. We revert with a plan recommendation and a fixed annual price, usually within two hours on a working day.
Once you confirm, we schedule a baseline visit: panels cleaned, readings logged, cabling photographed. That baseline becomes the reference for every future report. Visits are then scheduled quarterly, and you get a call a day before each one so someone can open terrace access.
- Only name and phone number are mandatory on the form
- Quote within about 2 hours on working days
- Baseline visit sets your reference generation
- Reminder call before every scheduled visit
How to maintain solar panels between our visits
Rooftop solar is low maintenance, not no maintenance. In Chennai and coastal belts, a plain water rinse once every three to four weeks in the dry season keeps output steady - always in the early morning or after sunset, never on hot glass in the afternoon. Use plain water and a soft brush or a long-handled mop; never use detergent, hard bristles, a pressure washer or a metal scraper, and never walk on the modules.
Keep the array shadow free. A single overgrown branch, a new water tank, a neighbour's parapet extension or a bird nest under the panels can pull down a whole string, not just the shaded module. Trim branches before the monsoon, keep the terrace drains clear so water does not pond under the structure, and keep the inverter area dry, ventilated and free of stored boxes.
After a heavy storm or cyclone warning, do a quick visual check from a safe spot: any lifted module, loose clamp, hanging cable or water ingress near the inverter should be reported to us immediately rather than touched. DC wiring stays live in daylight even when the grid is off.
- Rinse every 3-4 weeks in dry season, early morning or evening
- Plain water and a soft brush only - no detergent or pressure jet
- Never stand or walk on the module glass
- Trim shading branches before the monsoon
- Clear bird nests and debris from under the array
- Keep the inverter area dry, shaded and ventilated
What to check periodically yourself
A five-minute check once a month catches most issues early. Look at the inverter status light and display: a steady green or 'normal' state is what you want, while any red light, fault code or blank screen in bright daylight needs a call. Compare today's generation with a similar clear day last month - a sustained drop of more than 10 percent that cleaning does not fix usually means shading, a failed string fuse, a loose connector or a module issue.
Once a quarter, walk the roof and look for cracked or discoloured glass, brown patches or snail trails on cells, cloudy moisture inside a junction box, cables sagging onto the hot roof surface, rusting bolts on the structure, and any water ponding under the array. On the meter side, confirm your TANGEDCO bill still shows export units on the bidirectional meter; a sudden drop in exported units is often the first sign of a fault.
- Monthly: inverter light, fault codes and daily units
- Monthly: compare yield with a similar clear day
- Quarterly: glass, junction boxes, cables and clamps
- Quarterly: shading from new construction or trees
- Every bill cycle: export units on the net meter
- After storms: visual damage check from a safe distance
Monitoring your solar on the mobile app
Every system we commission comes with a Wi-Fi or GPRS datalogger and a manufacturer app - Solis, Growatt, Deye, Sungrow, Havells or the app matching your inverter brand. Log in and you can see today's units, monthly and lifetime generation, live power in kilowatts, per-string voltage and current, and the fault history. Enable push notifications so the app alerts you the moment the inverter trips or the plant stops reporting.
A few practical habits: check that the plant is 'online' at least once a week, because a router change or Wi-Fi password reset is the most common reason data suddenly stops; expect a bell-curve generation graph on a clear day, and treat a flat top or a jagged curve as a shading or clipping clue; and add our engineer as a viewer on your app account so we can diagnose remotely before dispatching anyone. AMC customers get remote monitoring reviewed by our team as part of the contract.
- Enable fault and offline push notifications
- Re-link the datalogger after any Wi-Fi password change
- Watch the daily curve shape, not just the total
- Share app access with our engineer for remote diagnosis
Who should take an AMC
Homes with systems out of the free first-year service period, apartment associations and RWAs with common-area plants, commercial rooftops where downtime directly costs money, hospitals, hotels and hostels running critical loads, and agricultural pump owners in dusty inland districts. We service any branded system regardless of who installed it, across Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Vellore, Viluppuram and Tiruvannamalai, with scheduled trips to the rest of Tamil Nadu.
AMC plans for residential systems (1-5 kW)
| Plan | Visits per year | Includes | Price per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | 2 | Panel cleaning, visual and safety check | Rs 3,500 |
| Standard | 4 | Cleaning, inverter check, written report | Rs 6,000 |
| Premium | 6 + on-call | Full electrical audit, warranty handling, priority dispatch | Rs 10,000 |
Prices are indicative for residential 1-5 kW systems. Commercial, industrial and society plants are quoted per site after a walkthrough.
