What is Agricultural Land Solar Installation?
PM-KUSUM Component A lets farmers and farmer co-operatives set up 500 kW–2 MW grid-connected solar plants on their own barren or fallow land and sell power directly to TANGEDCO at a fixed tariff. The land remains the farmer's; only a small fenced area is leased to the developer (or self-developed). For idle farmland, this can generate ₹60,000–₹1,00,000 of net revenue per acre per year for 25 years — far more than rain-fed agriculture in many districts.
